Guests enjoy unique excursions, delicious food, comfortable, seaside lodging, warm hospitality, and friendly guides. All of this while being 8 miles from the nearest road, inside Alaska's first state park!
“The only problem with our one night package was that we wish we would have stayed longer! The lodge, cabins, and hospitality were incredible. The trip to the glacier was amazing, it was an out-of-this-world experience and really, really friendly hosts.”

One-night Wilderness Lodge Package
A 23-hour wilderness experience you'll never forget!
Depart Homer at 6 pm. Enjoy a scenic boat cruise on Kachemak Bay watching for otters, seals, puffins, and bald eagles. Occasional viewing of black bears on the beach, or whales on the bay add to the experience! Guests at Hideaway Cove Wilderness Lodge enjoy private, ocean-front cabins located withing the boundaries of Kachemak Bay State Park. After checking in to your private cabin, guest can enjoy relaxing on the sea-side deck, soaking in the cedar sauna, strolling the rocky beaches or venture out in a row with complimentary fishing gear.
Day 2 Guests have option of either a kayaking or non-kayaking tour to Glacier Lake
Enjoy a home-cooked country breakfast followed by a guided walk to a picturesque glacier lake near the lodge. Experience 3 distinct eco-zones on your hike; the tidal zone, coastal forest, and glacial out-wash. Guests are in awe at their first sight of the mile-wide glacier coming down the steep-mountain valley. Arriving at the lake shore, guests learn about the movements of these great "rivers" of ice, and even get to hold an ice berg!
Guests wanting a casual, no-kayak option, enjoy a break at the glacier lake followed by an escorted hike back to the wilderness lodge for a relaxing afternoon.
Guests wanting more activity and adventure continue hiking to our glacier-kayak base. Sounds of moving ice fill the valley as your stable kayak glides past magnificent icebergs of all sizes and shapes. Enjoy lunch in full view of the nearly mile-wide glacier face. Lucky guests may even see the glacier “calve” huge icebergs into the lake! After lunch, paddle back to the trail head, hike out, and return to the wilderness lodge. The tour finishes with a scenic boat ride back to Homer at 5:00 pm
